RECA’s 2025 Update and Our New Adaptive Learning Platform

Big news is coming to Alberta real estate education. Starting December 1, 2025, the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) is introducing new 2025 Competency Exam blueprints and updated licensing exams for its core courses.

At RELO, we’re taking this opportunity to not just meet these new standards but to launch a brand-new, adaptive learning platform to give you an even smarter path to your license.

What is the RECA 2025 Exam Update?

On December 1, the licensing exams for both the Fundamentals of Real Estate and the Practice of Residential Real Estate courses will be updated to align with RECA’s new 2025 Competency Exam blueprints.

We are fully aligning all new course content with these updated standards, and we’re launching a new AI-powered platform to give you the best possible learning experience.

What This Means for Current RELO Students

If you’re currently enrolled in a RELO course, you have two great options:

Option 1: Finish your current course before December 1, 2025. If you’re close to completing your program, you can stay on the existing platform and finish before the launch.
Option 2: Move to the new adaptive platform starting December 1, 2025—at no extra cost! If you’re not ready to complete your current course before December 1, you’ll be transitioned to the updated courses built for the new 2025 exams at no extra cost.

While your current completion percentage won’t transfer, your knowledge is what matters.

On the new platform, you’ll begin with an initial assessment aligned to the new 2025 RECA exam blueprints. This will help the system recognize what you already know and tailor your study plan accordingly. The stronger your foundation, the faster you’ll progress.
