What is the
competency model?

Simply put, a competency is the ability to perform what you learn on the job. Under a competency learning model, you don’t just memorize information from a textbook; you demonstrate that you can use or apply the knowledge, skills, and abilities in the real world.

Alberta is moving to a competency-based model for real estate training, and we are too. All of our courses align to the five real estate competencies RECA has defined, which are weighted according to importance. The five competencies below are the major categories of what you’ll learn in our courses – and they’ll go a long way toward helping your business thrive.
