Relo Tip: Once you create your account, have your RECA Contact ID number handy. You'll need it for Step 4.
Provide a certified criminal record check (CRC) immediately after creating your myRECA account. The CRC can take 6-8 weeks to process. You can (and should) complete this while you study (Step 5).

First, you'll take an assessment to help us determine what you currently know and receive a personalized study plan. Next, you'll study your tailored path with adaptive quizzes that are assessing your progress and reinforcing topics until you master them. Finally, you'll achieve a ReadyRating score of 4 or higher, watch all video lessons, and pass two practice exams to complete the courses. That'll provide you with a real-time prediction of your odds of passing, so you know when to book your exam.
Begin networking and interviewing with brokerages while you're studying. Your license must be held by an authorized real estate brokerage in Alberta.
Achieving a ReadyRating of 4 or higher, watching all video lessons, and passing two practice exams are the requirements for course completion on Relo. Once completed, book and pay for your pre-licensing exam through your myRECA account. You need a passing grade of 70% on the RECA pre-licensing exam, and you have two attempts.
Your chosen brokerage will give you the necessary employment and sponsorship documentation for RECA.
With your education complete, exam passed, background check cleared, and brokerage onboarded, complete the final licensing application to RECA.
Once approved by RECA, your license is activated. Congratulations, you're licensed to practice residential real estate in Alberta! You can also use this credential if you're moving elsewhere in Canada.
